World Cup Challenge
The Rules
- The World Cup Challenge is strictly pay-to-play. Entry fees can be paid in UK Sterling, Euro, or US Dollars at the following rates:
Sterling: £20.00 Euro: €25.00 US Dollar: $30.00 - Note that while I accept payment in Euro and US Dollars at the rates stated, if these are your usual currencies it would almost certainly be cheaper for you to pay me in Sterling and handle the currency conversion yourself.
- All entry fees collected will be paid out in prize money
- Once you have registered I will contact you with details of how to pay.
- Entry fees must be paid in full before the start of the competition or you will be disqualified.
- Details of actual prize amounts will be published on the site once registrations have closed and all entry fees have been paid.
- Prize values will be in listed Sterling but can be paid in either Euro or US Dollars if requested in which case the amount received will be based on the exchange rate offered by my bank (Revolut) at the time of payment.
- Forecasts must be submitted online via this web-site. If for any reason the web-site is unavailable when you attempt to submit your predictions and you subsequently miss the deadline your scores will be randomly generated as stated in rule 10 below - so best not to leave things until the last minute.
- Forecasts for each match may be entered or amended any time up until kick-off (give or take a minute or three).
- Failure to register forecasts before the deadline will result in randomly allocated scores being assigned for the affected match(es). Randomly allocated scores will cover all possible results in the range 0-0 through to 3-3.
- Full lists of forecasts for each match can be viewed via the web-site as soon as the deadline for the match has passed.
- For the knock-out stages of the competition (Round 4), the points will be awarded based on the score at the end of the regulation 90 minutes plus stoppage time - i.e. extra-time and penalty shoot-outs will not count.
- Results and point allocations for each game, along with "league tables" etc. will be posted as soon as possible after each match - normally within 24 hours at the outside.
- In the event of any dispute, I am right and you are wrong.
